Ghost Flower or monotropa uniflora (one turn, one flower) is a medicinal plant that I see poking out of the forest floor on hikes and is one of my favorites to come across. This plant is so unique as it does not contain any chlorophyll. It gets its food source by attaching to certain fungi and the mycorrhizal networks to consume energy from photosynthesizing trees. MIND BLOWN!!! … Let me know if you’ve seen this before and keep an eye out on the floor.
